Senior Swim Team won the Central Lancs Senior League for the 12th time in 13 years.
Intermediate Swim Team won the Central Lancs Intermediate League Division 2 are will be promoted to Division 1 for 2008.
Junior Jubilee Swim Team were runners up in the Junior Jubilee 'A' Final.
Diane Stafford was elected President of ASA North West

Daniel Hudspith, Adam Gillespie, Ed Morley, Grace Morley
and Adam Toone were selected to attend the Manchester Regional Training Centre for water polo.
Chris Gilbertson represented Great Britain in the LEN European Nations Trophy Water Polo
Championships. GB finished in sixth place and secured qualification for the European Championships qualification tournament
in January. Chris scored two goals during the championships.
Robyn Nicholls represented Great Britain in a Junior Women's Water Polo Tournament in Thionville,
France and attended the GB Junior Women's Olympic Hopes water polo training camp in Praque.
Eric Harrison was invited by the ASA to attend the semi finals and finals of the LEN European
Nations Trophy Water Polo Championships at Manchester Aquatics Centre on 14th and 15th July in recognition of his “commitment

Gillespie, Nick Grime, Robert Leyland, Ed Morley, Grace Morley, Megan Price and Bethany Sloan represented Wigan Borough in
the Greater Manchester Youth Games water polo tournament.Eric Harrison was the
team manager and Gwyneth Harrison the assistant team manager.The team took the
silver medal after being beaten by a golden goal in extra time in a closely fought opening game against the tournament winners
Oldham.The team won their remaining games convincingly.Aaron Atherton was the tournament’s top goalscorer.

Robyn Nicholls attended a Great Britain Junior Women's water polo training camp in Millfield and represented the team
in the Six Nations Cup in Felgueiras, Portugal.
The GB team took the bronze medal.
Michael Cowburn was selected to represent Great Britain Seniors in an international water polo tournament in Saudi Arabia.

Chris Gilbertson represented Great Gritain in the Junior Men's European
Water Polo Championships in Oradea, Roumania. In the group stage GB played Serbia, Slovenia, Roumania and Georgia.

Eleanor Bailey achieved a new club record of 17.57s in the Mini
Gala 8 Year Girls 25 m freestyle beating the previous record of 17.9s set by Michelle Giles in 1976.

"The Big Thank You" Volunteer Award from the Tyldesley, Astley Township Forum in recognition of her voluntary
services in the area.
Diane Stafford received a letter of commendation from the Torch Trophy Trust which "recognises outstanding volunteers
in the world of sport who have given their time voluntarily to work at grass root level and enable people within their community
to participate in sport". The letter was sent on behalf of the Priness Royal (Princess Anne) and signed by Sir Bobby
Charlton.

The Senior Water Polo Team had their most successful season in the National
League to date clinching the sixth place in the British Championships by heading the lower section of the Division One
table.
Michael Cowburn was the National League Division 1 top goal scorer winning the Peter Olsen trophy
for the second year in succession. Michael scored 74 goals, 23 goals more than his nearest rival. (Click here for further details)
The Mayor and Mayoress of Wigan presented the trophies and medals at the
Club Championships and attended a buffet reception provided by the club at the Morts Heritage Centre, Astley immediately
following the gala.

Khalid Jhugroo won the Boys 17-24 years 2000m at National Age Groups Open
Water Championships at Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham. (Click here for further details)
Natalie Cummings who only achieved her National Qualifying Time in June
and was competing in her first ever ASA National Age Groups finished 9th in the heats of the Girls 12 years 100 m backstroke
and went on to take 6th in the final.
Khalid Jhugroo competing in the 17/18 years age group of the ASA National
Youth Championships (i.e. his final year) was unable to repeat his gold medal performance in last year's 1500 m freestyle.
Khalid was 6th fastest in the heats of the 400 m freestyle but was 2 seconds slower in the final and finished in 10th place.
Khalid also achieved 12th in the 400 m IM, 13th in the 200 m IM, 14th in the 1500 freestyle and 20th in the 200 m freestyle.
David Gendall, James Harrison and Mark Hurst passed their ASA Assistant
Teachers Water Pool Certificates.

Frances Peers was selected as the team captain for the English Catholic Schools Team at the World Catholic
Schools competition in Malta. Frances achieved two golds, one silver, a 4th, a 5th and a 6th position in the competition.
Robyn Nicholls attended the National Water Polo Academy at Millfield for the 2nd year running. Robyn is the
only Tyldesley player to attend the Academy twice.

Heather Fredriksen won
the 10K and finished 5th in the 5K Womens British Open Water Championships. Khalid Jhugroo finished 4th in the Mens

Natalie Cummings achieved National Age Group Qualifying Times in the 100 m and 200 m backstroke. These are Natalie's
first NQTs.
Wigan Borough represented by
Tyldesley SWPC finished 3rd in the Greater Manchester Youth Games Water Polo Tournament. Luke Cheadle was joint
second highest goalscorer for the competition with 11 including the winning goal in the final second of the
3rd place play-off against Bury.
