Proposed Pool Closure

Children must be aware of the standards that are required by the club with regard the following:

1.   SWIMWEAR

Please ensure that female swimmers wear a complete swimming costume (not a bikini or two piece bathing costume).

Females should also wear a swim cap or tie their hair up in a “ponytail”.

Please ensure that male swimmers wear swimming trunks and not swim shorts or cycling shorts.

No watches, rings or earrings should be worn for safety reasons.

2.   DISCIPLINE

The swimmers/water polo players are required to be disciplined during the session time and follow the instructions of the teacher/coach.

If the teacher/coach feels that the child’s behaviour is not the standard required by the club then they will “exclude” the child from the session.

No swimmer/water polo player should enter the water without the permission of their teacher/coach.

3.   MEDICAL HISTORY – ILL HEALTH

If your child/children have any form of medical history or develop any type of medical condition that the teachers should be aware of (eg asthma, visual impairment, dyslexia, diabetic, arthritis) please notify the teacher as soon as possible. This information could help the teacher in developing your child’s swimming/water polo.

If a swimmer/water polo player has been absent from lessons for a “long period of time” then the teacher/coach should be informed of the reason for absence, eg glandular fever, operation, injury. The teacher/coach will also have to have some form of notification from the GP for the swimmer to re-commence swimming/water polo.

This then gives the teacher/coach the opportunity to assess if a different form of swimming/water polo training is required.

4.         RESIGNATION

If for any reason your child/children decide to leave the club you should notify the Liaison Officer as soon as possible.
