Robyn Nicholls GB Senior Ladies Water Polo player

Robyn became a member of Tyldesley Swimming and Water Polo Club in November 1997 at the age of 7 and joined the Junior Water Polo section in August 2001.  

 

In October 2001 Robyn represented Tyldesley in the 11/Us 125^th Anniversary Water Polo Tournament.  In 2002 she became the first girl to represent Tyldesley in a Northern Counties competition (14/Us tournament).

 

In August 2003 Robyn attended the National Water Polo Academy at Millfield.  Robyn was the first girl from Tyldesley to attend the Academy and the first player (girl or boy) from Tyldesley to attend for three year’s in succession.

 

In October 2003 Robyn joined City of Manchester Water Polo but continued to swim and play water polo for Tyldesley whenever she could.

 

In May 2004 Robyn was selected for the Northern Counties team for the ASA Inter-district Water Polo Tournament.

 

From November 2005 to November 2006 Robyn was the Tyldesley SWPC Girls Club Captain.

 

International Achievements

 

July 2005 attended an England Youth training camp in Holland.  During the camp the team played against Holland and Canada.

 

February 2006 represented Great Britain in an International Junior Women Water Polo Tournament in Slovakia against Czech Republic, Croatia and Slovakia. (click here to view Robyn’s selection letter)

 

July 2006 attended a Great Britain Youth Women training camp in Joure, Holland. (click here for team manager’s report)

 

August 2006 represented Great Britain Junior Women in an International Water Polo Tournament against Croatia Junior Women, Slovakia Senior Women and Slovakia Junior Women in Vrutky, Slovakia.  (click here for team manager’s report)

 

May 2007 attended a Great Britain Junior Women's water polo training camp in Millfield and represented the team in the Six Nations Cup in Felgueiras, Portugal. The GB team took the bronze medal.

 

July 2007 represented Great Britain in an International Junior Women's Water Polo Tournament in Thionville, France and attended the GB Junior Women's Olympic Hopes water polo training camp in Praque.
